30 Under 30 2017: Vin Ko, senior program manager at St. Louis Mosaic Project
I am passionate about the growth of the St. Louis region. Highlights from my role at the St. Louis Mosaic Project include collaborating with local universities for a STEM-focused job fair for international students, and working with the International Institute, Hispanic Chamber and Asian Chamber to help immigrant entrepreneurs start and grow businesses. In 2010, I founded a soccer organization known as St. Louis Pick Up Soccer. It started with a group of about 40 people and has grown to more than 4,000 members playing all over the region. Having launched and run several programs promoting international student retention, immigrant entrepreneurship and immigrant professionals, I have helped St. Louis become the fastest major metro for foreign born growth in the country in 2015, with an increase of 8.9 percent. And throughout my career working in development, I have raised over $10 million for various organizations and campaigns in Missouri.
