How an expat and a transplant found community through the St. Louis Mosaic Project
When Sherley Moran moved to St. Louis from Mexico City in 2018, the transition came with a great deal more than an address change. She had left a job that she loved, she had to rely on her husband for transportation, and it was hard for her to make connections, both professional and personal.
In an interview on KWMU's St. Louis on the Air, she tells host, Elaine Cha -- “I had a huge identity crisis, [feeling like] I'm nothing here. I don't have a career. I am just someone's wife. I'm not the professional that I used to be — the independent woman that made her own money, that drove herself around, that did whatever she wanted whenever she wanted,” she said. “And you also suffer a lot of isolation.”
